Laser Defender with increasing difficulty

Solid effort. Overall gameplay is nice. Interesting enough to give it a couple of go’s.

You mentioned going on to the next section. So I won’t comment to search for new sprites to make this game your own, even though that would be time well spent (in terms of effort and result). Continue developing yourself and decide later what you want to do with this game.I did the same on the last project so I completely agree with you.

I did however benefit from a couple of suggestions, so I’ll give you mine:

  • It appears your ship can take two hits, any indication on how you are doing as a player is welcome. I’m sharing what some cool dude sent me, which worked great. But you could start with presenting the health of the player as a number.
    The same goes for your enemies. I had the feeling they became stronger every wave. Or my lasers/missiles became weaker every minute. I noticed the score increasing with greater increments as well. I know what a ***** it can be to add these, but visual clues to the player really help your player.

  • Small bug: It seems your buttons and the ‘clickable area’ don’t always overlap. Roughly, the top third of your PLAY AGAIN button doesn’t respond to the mouse…


    This doesn’t translate well to image. Let’s just say the mouse hover-over doesn’t generate a respons on the top half of the image, the text and the image might not be the same size or something like that.
