Lamp Shade

Hello everybody,
Here’s my lamp shade. I have also added additional geometry since the inner part is generally white.

A basic 3D principle is that a face can only be seen from one side. The side where the normal lives.
A face has no backside. So practically you need to solidify a face, as you did.

Fortunately, Blender shows (generates) also the backside of a face.
This knowledge is only important for exporting to other 3D (game) packages. Where speed is of the essence. Gamed engines filter out faces seen from the back to speed up the process (in the old days).
