Lamp base modelling

So I followed the instructions and moved slightly ahead.
First, decided to dissolve one more edge loop (yes, I used edge dissolving, I advice to keep in mind, you can dissolve even vertices and edges).
Here.

So I came up with 352 verticies which is good, but… the model is not fine at my opinion.
Why? Look here when you deselect in object view.

You may see these strange… pikes and lines. Imagine how they will look in Unity, for example. Be sure, they will…

So I thought back and recalled one previous lecture where there were words about doubling vertices for more precise shape rendering.

So I tried…

But nothing changed.

Then I thought forward. Making additional edge loops defines geometry better so I made another approach.

Look what I’ve got!

And then - another trick with basement.

416 vertices total.
