Lamp Animation Test

Here’s my animation test. I rendered using Cycles, with 32 samples without denoising, 1080 at 75%. It took around 3 sec to render the frames where the light hit the desk and other objects, and about a sec to render the frames where the lamp was looking up mid air.

I see specular spots inside the lamp by the end of the animation, which I think is a bit unrealistic, since I believe the inside of the shade would be completely bright and it wouldn’t reflect any light source from outside. To test it, I removed the spot light I was using inside the lamp, and increased the emission of the bulb. This took about an extra second to render the frame.

Yes just far too few samples and without denoising, it will look noisy. I can’t remember anything rendering is 3 seconds, lol Less than a minute a frame I would think of as so fast the quality will be low.

Nice little animation though.
