Can it be that the knight base is oval-shaped?

Looking good though I suspect the whole thing is too thin side to side on the horse.
Look at it in proper orthographic views, with the horse nose straight at you, will be side or front type of view. Still looks incredibly ‘flat’ side to side. Look at the ears, almost no width to them.
I was worried it might be too big but widened it and it actually gets better. Thank you for your opinion. ^^
