The Mirror Modifier made what would have been an absolute nightmare into a fun and much more freestyle operation than most of the other challenges. Making sure that Clipping is selected in the Mirror modifier is crucial to the image being symmetrical and also crucial to retaining your sanity… I learned this the hard way and spent ages trying to line things up against the z-axis, only to find out minutes after i’d paused the video that clipping solves all of this.
Didn’t really have too many difficulties with this. I think the only trouble I have is with the occasional tech talk mid lecture. In this lesson i think it was the explanation of ‘mesh analysis’ and ‘edge split modifier’ (lecture 86) … It may be easy for the nerdier folks among us, but for practical artists like myself i’m finding it a bit too much like trigonometry class… ie: a headache!
