Finished the king for now. The pieces I took reference from have a hand-painted design that makes up for the lack of crosses and crowns. I chose them because I thought it would be perfect for me to come back to when I learn UV mapping.
So for now this is the King with his Queen… I did change up somethings from the reference so they are not exact.
Very striking design. I came across the same image when I was researching reference material for my own chess set, and I fell in love with how it looks. So I def wish you well in eventually learning how to apply that hatched inlay appearance. I’d love to see how it all looks once you get there. Again, very nice work.
