Joints

While checking the UV map of my duck I saw this:

I checked to find out that the joints that I made were these bumps. The shoulder is like that too, but the rest is fine. How exactly do I fix this?

Very hard to get a sense of how that UV fits that hand.
But generally pair up triangles to make quads would be worth trying, Should be no need of that 8 way pole.

That’s not the UV of the hand. These are:

The ones you see are from the pre-baked version on the post-baked image of the triangulated version. I made a duplicate for baking (triangulated version). This one, as shown above, has applied multi-res.

I think it is because of the high density of the vertices in those knuckles.

I understand your intention, but those are too many and to close.
Forcing the mesh to stay at the same spot, creating bumps.
You don’t see that many verts being used in my examples!
