I just entered pose mode and ticked auto ik in the tool shelf . But it was going all wrong. the upper arm was following the shade and the lower arm ,base were working as pairs. I could not control my bone movement… please help !
Your IK bone chain, is one short. Somewhere you need to enter the number of bones in the chain, add one more.
Your base bone and child have a constrain, about the maximum, minimum ratiation. Check that, watch out for min, max values (negative) …
