png’s don’t support layers normally (Adobe Fireworks used to).
Instead, you would either save the file as a .TIFF or flatten the image and then save as a .PNG.
Clicking Save Anyway will flatten it for you so make sure you save a copy as a TIFF if you plan on using it again in future and want the layer information.
