I'm making a wolf instead

So I didn’t want to make a bunny, a wolf seemed pretty cool. I have some previous experience in Zbrush with organic modeling so I thought I would try for something a little more ambitious for this section. I think I will balance this out by making the wolf in a more simple scene, maybe a snow like scene of some kind or something maybe.

Also, I put more time into the design only because I wanted a more realistic or stylized world with still reasonable anatomy so I find thinking about anatomy early to be really helpful (I’m also a concept artist originally).

Alright, here is the point I’m at the sculpt. It’s coming along alright I think. Trying to make it look stylized like the concept I drew up.

Badass.

That is wrooooong. You are trying to sculpt hair, don’t do that. You should be sculpting kinda naked wolf first, add hair particles and adjust them how you like. Watch next lectures and see how that goes.
Don’t delete what you have now, you can make fur effects with different methods and compare results later on, just for now in this section it is done another way.

I have something else in mind. I’m going to play with the hair particle effects but I wanted to texture this wolf in a more cartoony way without doing the hair with particles in blender.

I have previous experience with sculpting so I’m trying to do something else here beyond the basic lesson so that I’m not bored.

Well as I said, would be interesting to compare the results.

Thats looking impressive already

Another version without the sculpted hair. Going to try and texture this two ways. One like the tutorial suggests, the other more stylized and cartoony I think.

Messing around with the fur.

Dang the Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead!

Love what you’re doing here! It’s great to see someone going beyond the basics :star_struck:

Thanks a ton. Here is an update on it so far. Added some contrasting fur. Botched the tail but I’m too lazy to fix it now haha.

Updated it with a more natural eye. Though, I like the glowing red ones too.
