camel case can refer to both upper case and lower case forms. Whilst some people/organisations/etc. use camel case to specifically refer to the lower case variant that’s not a universal rule. It’s not incorrect to say camel case.

You’re right, it’s only confusing for people coming from a JS or Microsoft background.
