I’ve bought the bundle Get Going with Blender - Guided Beginner Bundle with the hope to learn how to create asset for Videogame. So, to learn not only Blender, but also to learn how to export correctly to Unity (in my case), Godot and UE, with lesson in which you learn how to fix some common problems and using of models created in blender to create dungeons in engine. Looking the lessons of the courses of the bundle, I’ve not find any lesson that explicitally explain how to export the components and use them in engine. Did I waste $40 on courses that promise something but don’t deliver? Are they clickbait courses designed to trick you into spending money? Can you help me to find the lesson in which is explicitally explained how to make the exporting to engine and show how to use and fix some common problems?
Blender courses have always been about Blender, they do not say also ‘exporting’ to any of the particular game engines. Not least as there are several with different methods probably. These are about using beginner use of Blender.
There are some short, specific to each engine, courses Blender to XXXX (Unity, Godot, Unreal)
Classed as intermediate, available so people can get a short course for conversions just to their engine choice. If you select filter the Blender courses, they show up on the second page.
I hope that helps.
@NP5 Thank you very much for your answer. But I disagree with you. Let think about this website. What is its goal? The answer is in the name: GameDev, Development Games. That means that the goal of the courses of this website is to teach how to develop game, to give to the students, me too, all the tools that we need to create a first videogame. This doesn’t mean that there shouldn’t be blender courses that focus only on Blender. But I’m talking about the honesty. Let me explain: In this website there is a free course about blender. this: Get Started With Blender - FREE Course | GameDev.tv
in this course there is a lesson (1.12) that explain how to export the objects that you have created following the course (the sheep, the tree and so on). but in that lesson Grant Abbit, the teacher, explain just a couple of fix to export. but there isn’t any minute or other lesson that show the exporting with success and potentially bug with fix. the result? in the comment there is one student that has tried the exportation and he has failed. Because there is a problem. That means, what the teacher teaches in that lesson doesn’t work. And I think:”But if in this course that is free there are some informations that doesn’t work, if I pay some course, what could i find?”. Other example: As I already said, I’ve bought this bundle: Get Going with Blender - Guided Beginner Bundle | GameDev.tv that is seems it explains all the workflow from blender to engine to create assets for videogame. but as I already said, I don’t find any lesson about this topic and any lesson that show how to import into engine (Unity, Godot, UE) and fix potentially bug.
Lest example:I’ve bought this course: From Blender to Unity: Game-Ready Assets, Characters and Animation | GameDev.tv thinking that help me to export from blender to Unity my objects. But there are some big problems:1) Why I have to export the Blender monkey? I know. it just an example. but why don’t export, for example, the assets that I create in the bundle, or in the free course of blender or both? 2) in the lesson 2.4 is used Adobe Substance. I’m sorry but I don’t use this software. It seem a tutorial for all and for nobody.
I would like to suggest a solution: Why don’t create a course, or a bundle, in which you learn how to create all the assets (character, environment and so on), with only one style, and learn how to export THESE asset into engine. After that, the teachers could create un update of bundle of RPG game in which you use the asset that I create in the previous bundle. This way, you not only create continuity in your teaching, but you can also promote the other bundle in the videos. For example, you’re learning to create an RPG, and you learn about the bundle that explains how to create assets that you are using. This encourages me to buy it and then apply what I’m learning to my own game.
I understand the difficulty in creating these videos. In fact, I’m very grateful because they’re very good and informative, and the teachers are excellent. The thing is, before I can start creating my own video game, I just need to know how to properly export the assets I create. This is the only problem I see. I hope I haven’t bored you, but that I’ve given you an idea for possible future videos.
