Exported UVs, imported ninto Paint.net, added another layer and drew onto that, then just exported the layer I’d drawn onto.

So you stacked the map of the left side and right side of the face ontop of each other right? I wonder how. Did you just flipped one side of your Mapdata by scaling it through itself?

I think I used the mirror modifier and it did the UV mirroring automatically.
