Idle Animation Messed Up

I have downloaded this pack and it appears to work on Fab imagery. However, when I download it and open it, all of them are seriously messed up, similar to this one. I’m too new to be able to ask google the right question or to figure out how to try and fix it. Is there anyone who might be able to help with understanding this problem? Thank you.

I would try asking on the discord - there’s probably people there who are more experienced with this sort of issue. It could be the rigging is wrong. Was it free or paid-for or was it perhaps not designed for Unreal use?

I had a quick look and found this which looks very similar so I am assuming this is the asset: Mouse | Fab
So, in this case it isn’t actually designed for Unreal - not all assets are. You need to apply the unreal filter when searching.
At a guess the Skeletal mesh is wrong and would need serious work in a 3D Modelling package to correct it…

Download it as an FBX file and import it manually into Unreal Engine. Animations work fine, but as beegeedee said, a lot of work ahead.

Thank you both for the help and advice. I can definitely download it as FBX, but I suspect it’s gonna take a lot more work that I can probably do at this stage of my knowledge.

My concern would be this I guess. Yes. It is that asset that I found through Fab. But if it’s through Fab and linked through UE5 engine, how would I know if it isn’t optimized for UE? I guess I’ll need to make sure to specify Unreal in the search. I found 3, 2 of which are messed up, like that one. I would have assumed if it went through Fab, it should work, but I guess that’s a lesson learned.

On the right side of a page, there is a section called “Included formats”. If there is an Unreal Engine logo, that means the assets are prepared for UE. The other logos represent additional formats included. It is made that way because FAB targets a wider audience, not only UE users, but those assets still can be used in UE, you just need to do more work to make it work like in this situation.

This is the one that finally worked for me. However, when I filter to only show Unreal Engine (or UEFN-not sure the diff), this one doesn’t show up. But this is the only one of the 3 that worked. Is this just trial and error or is there a better way to determine if it’ll successfully work?

Hmm, this works fine when imported through FAB for me too. I guess it’s trial and error then.

I guess that’s good to know. I thought it was something wrong on my engine. After I got 2 in a row that didn’t work. My only real issue is now I’m forced to use that static mesh for the black rat. I can’t seem to use the mouse, as they don’t seem to be compatible.

Oh, no not you at all. There’s something weird in 5.5.a couple of the paragon assets are all funky and yet even they are designed for unreal…
