In this picture the spheres all have the same amount of Vertices/faces, yet the center sphere which is a segmented cube looks way better than the other two. Placement of the holes was easier and in my opinion more to scale. (I used a material to colour in the places I think the holes should go).
Initially I thought the Ico Sphere would be the best option (and in the video it was) but my sphere turned out a bit wonky so I picked the segmented cube instead as my choice of sphere.
