I am having trouble with the 'to Sphere tool'

I am sorry, i cannot add a photo from my current device, so i will try and explain my issue as clearly as possible.

at about 3:50 we are told about the tool ‘to sphere’ and when it is first use, it shows no changes on the lecture, however when i tried it, expecting the same null result, my hexagon started getting bigger as i increased the proportion. Even once i had sub-divided the edges of my hexagon it still tries to get larger as soon as use the ‘to sphere’ tool.

I hope that makes sense. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Did you select just the edges? If you just select the face it will make the hexagon bigger. When you have just the edges selected you then use the ‘to sphere’ to round it to a circle then just extrude it into the bowling ball.

Thank you. I restarted the file and managed to get it to work. It might have been a selection issue I am not sure
