My evaluation
Game Idea : 7/10
Core concept and feeling was what I really wanted to achieve with the prototype.
Pre pro decisions : 5/10
Because of my inspiration by Syndicate wars, camera and character movement are of massive importance, that’s why I spent quite some time extending further than the course and introduce a left /right /up /down panning camera.
Not there yet … perspective of buildings is skewed and more fine tuning is needed. But overall I’m happy considering the limited amount of time I spent in it.
Art design / Visuals : 7/10
Well I bought a kind of cyberpunk / scifi assets pack, otherwise it wouldn’t do. Lost a bunch of time since I switched to the new Lightweigt rendering system, but of course as a result the visual effect is better. Slight learning curve but eager to pick up on the shader graphs soon.
I used shader graphs as a concept already here and there, main goal is here to create the neon / holographic kind of visuals that are common in Sci Fi / Cyberpunk.
Core Game moments 4/10
On the game moments …. Only the vista’s so far (which are important ofc). It’s not the bloated ‘bizzi’ thing one might expect from a cyberpunk city , but the 4 districts already convey a bit of the feeling of ‘ massiveness’ that I’m aiming for. It was great combining this with the design vids and the coding vids to finetune the size of stuff in combo with the camera movement I’m aiming for.
My most massive game moment ain’t there yet …. Sure we will have fun dismembering opponents, but the true moment will come as soon as you can destruct a building with an orbital strike
Marketing Ammo : 3/10
Might spark some … but def needs more work to get it attractive enough so
Personally I believe its too early if we don’t have one of the major combat experiences, or a view of the RPG levelling system yet, before it could be used as a ‘ sparker’.
I welcome the feedback of all ! Just shoot out on whatever comes into mind
