How to scale Bowling Ball

As Mikey I have the ball 2.6 BU size!
Can someone explain it how did he scale it? He used 1.08 but I dont understand why (EDIT Ok I got that 1.08 is half of diameter, but after that he multiply it per 2.6, this isn’t clear!
Thank you all!

Blender units operate under 1 BU = 1 meter. There are about 39 inches in a meter. Half of a real bowling ball diameter is 4.25 inches. It has been multiplied in this section by 10. 4.25 x 10 = 42.5 inches. That is where the 1.08 meters come from.

Earlier in the section, the bowling ball had been scaled by 2.6 meters instead of 1.08. The full diameter of a bowling ball is 8.5 inches. 8.5 x 10 = 85 inches. 2.1 meters would have been more accurate but for some reason, they went with 2.6.

In order to find the difference to get the proper dimensions, 1.08 is divided by 2.6 = 0.415 so the scale has to be changed by 0.415 to have a proportional size to the bowling pin.

At least that’s how I understood it. I don’t really have a head for math. :upside_down_face:

Scaling in Blender is annoying but this great article explains how to go about doing it.

Well, except that I use only meters (Internal system) I think I got it!
Thanks for the explanation and the link!!!
