How to make the box bigger in the shader editor

That is a small clipped off view of the UV editor.

The background grid can not be changed but you can zoom in. Scroll the mouse wheel while the cursor is in the area.
Well put it another way it might be possible but no one has ever wanted to before.
That is why UVs unwrap to fit inside as large as they all can be and retaining the same scale.

The selected map verts as in the image can be scaled with the usual S for scale.


and g for grab to change its location, because they now are overlapping.
