Home or no? Level sketch for "Essential Urge"

Here is my layout sketch. In this scene, the MC explores the apartment that should be her/his home, but nothing seems right. I’m aiming to create a haunting experience by contradicting the player’s expectations while implying a much deeper narrative, which the player will (at this time) have no way to substantiate. Combat is minimal, and should feel futile, so the player is pushed to search for a more effective solution than fighting.
