Hi All,
Here is my high poly Pawn.
Regards!
Roberto.
Looking very nice so far, time to make the next item!
There is a dark spot in front on the bottom.
Any clue what that can be?
Hi FedPete,
To be honest…no clue. I tried to move the lights with no success. Anyway, I discarded that complex object. I tried to mix several techniques, I used cuts and scaling, bevel edges and bezier curves and tried to connect the meshes. At the end, after a lot of time spent I had intersecting geometry, some nasty results and 5000 polys. I gave up. I’ll wait to have more skills before going that far with the detail.
Regards.
Roberto.
Okay, then that is the culprit. But I know the feeling of doing a bit more than expected in the lesson challenge. But the best is to follow these lessons and learn the specific aspects. After the chess module, you know a lot more. Then do it a second time, with your own design.
It is hard, in the beginning, to undo the mistakes.
But when you are going to experiment, on your own, make a copy of the .blend
file.
I totally agree. Actually, after that pawn work I reverted straight away to low poly.
Thanks for the reply FedPete!
