Tried to spice it up with some windows console commands using the things we already had explained and a tiny bit of Microsoft help docs. Code included as well if anyone is interested. Also perefirally found that \n serves the same function as std::endl for this use case.

Oh wow that escalated quickly.
It looks like in my haste to move on to the next lesson my screen shot was a bit clipped. But yeah, I figured a scary theme would be fun as a inciting event for why someone would be playing a numbers game.
May or may not have been inspired by my boyfriend playing Inscryption while I was working on a game concept.
