Every time i try to move my rook it just teleports it back to the location before but it says at the location box that is somewhere else

(I can only move it in edit mode)

This message means, the object (origin) is locked.

But the problem is that it does not say its locked
see it says its not locked

and here you can see its just at 0,0,0

Can you give us full screenshots with the item selected.

General Q&A note
Please give full screenshots with any questions. With the relevant panels open.
Also include the lecture time that is relevant to the problem/issue.
This can be done by Blender itself, via the ‘Window’ menu bar top left hand side. On that menu drop down is ‘save screenshot’. Or Alt S
Close ups additionally where they help.

Pull up and open more your timeline? It is just possible you have animated it by accident at some point. You show as being at frame 134 not zero.

Do not worry about time delays we are used to this being international.

Did you change also other default Blender options?

How did you insert the rook in the the chessboard project file?

  • link?
  • append?

And what kind of object import?

  • Collection?
  • Object?
  • mesh?

It is just possible you may have ticked the ‘Origins’ in the options dropdown top right. Though you do not say you saw only the origin point moving.
