My introduction to the Unreal Engine was back in 1999 when Unreal Tournament was released. At that time, I spent many hours in the UT mods and custom maps community.
In the early 2000s, I started computer science at the university level with the intention of getting into the game industry. Things didn’t go the way I wanted them to. I never finished my bachelor, and I ended up going to a truck driving school. Even though I spent many years over the road, I now have a local truck driver job.
In the last 20+ years, Unreal Engine has changed a lot. I still have the desire to learn and make games. There’s a multiplayer idea in my head that I want to challenge myself to create. Since it is a multiplayer game, I want to understand networking with Unreal thoroughly. This is why I am taking this course.
