I understand that mirroring objects can help us save time but I just didn’t understand the purpose of cutting and mirroring the tiny house??
Thanks,

I guess it is about teaching the use of mirroring that can be carried forward to much more complex projects. It also ensure regularity and , symmetry effortlessly.
The wheel is one section rotationally arrayed round.
Then The cart is mirrored.
The barrel was mirrored in all axes, x,y,z, so I ‘made’ an eight of it.
It is easy to start something and think it is small and simple so why bother mirroring. It will save you a lot of time and ‘costs’ nothing. It can be applied whenever there is a need to diverge from symmetry.
Not all use cases in the tutorials are the best examples. But, just to have a simple object, and let you work with this mirror modifier. To get acquitted with it. If you don’t see the real need for your project, then don’t use it.
There are so many ways to do things in Blender. But we need to start somewhere to explain a little, much used feature.
Have fun.
