Hello! If you’re a mac user and don’t want to tangle your fingers entering those shortcuts, there’s a way you can permanently have F1-F12 function as if you were holding the key down.
Go to System Preferences > Keyboard and make sure that “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” is checked.
Not only does this save you some time and frustration while using hotkeys in blender, but I also found that it happens to help out in applications like Adobe Flash/Animate as well!
