Issue:- Right now I am working on EsaceBuilding Section and I am having an issue with some of the walls in my level’s room that these walls are not reflecting any light (Showing pitch-black colour).
Note:- As I move lights inside my room all the walls start reflecting light and start showing its textures correctly but when I build lighting the same issue starts occurring.
I also tried making a new level and again did everything but the same issue keeps coming
I checked Light Map Coordinate Index and it was set to 0 and then I changed it to 1 and now my problem is almost gone, thanks to you. But I am still having a problem:-
I meant for you to click UV 0 or 1 and take a look at them. Often 0 doesn’t make sense for the object. The lightmap coordinate index is referring to those UV channels.
So I was suggesting that you should take a look at both and set the lightmap coordinate index to the one that looked more correct.
As for the shadow is there anything in the way there, even something that is “invisible”?
As you can see I try changing UV channels but still have almost the same problem.
I looked over my project again I didn’t find any hidden or visible mesh outside the room.
Please use File > Package Project > Zip Up Project within Unreal as this will ensure only required files are zipped up and things like the Binaries are excluded.
Oh, it just had a super low lightmap resolution of 4. Default of meshes you import is 64, sometimes that’s not great either so I suggest you try various values of 64 - 1024.
Yes, I forgot to change the LightMap Coordinates and after setting this to 1 All the issues are resolved, Thanks To You.
I have one more question, will we be introduced to LightMap Coordinates Later on in the course?
As I said before, that just refers to which UV channel to use (and if you look at each 0 is just empty). UV’s are very lightly touched on in the texture tiling lecture IIRC.
This topic would be the subject of one of the Blender courses.
(I haven’t actually done them so maybe @Marc_Carlyon could confirm?)
