What do you mean by ‘clipping’? The donut pressing through the sugar topping?
There are so many solutions …
- drag the vertices
- delete part of donut (boolean)

Many ways, it is the base doughnut poking through the icing laid over the top. Whatever is covered up can be selectively deleted for example.
