when following along i apply mirror, z axis turn on clipping move the origin make sure to click off origins again, select the faces e to extrude, s to scale and the middle section the join so to speak stays 3m i have tried this numerous times now same out come it is just the top line that stays 3m
using blender 3.4.1
edit i needed to zoom in a little more i was way off the join
