Has anyone tried this method to create bowling pin?

Instead of curves we can create sphere, loop cut on curves and move them on z axis to get the similar pin. I found it easier and it has the flat bottom so we dont have to do more work on it.

It’s valid approach. Curves have it uses, esp. for modelling curved surfaces  but you can achive the same results in Blender in many different ways.

Often many ways to do things in Blender. I do not think I often use the curve way mainly as I tend to make things up as I go along rather than have a specific end shape in mind.

The reason for curves is to learn about this Blender feature. Because it’s an important part of the toolset.
Basically, when you start with a cube you can create everything. But learning different tools, then you know when (and how) to use them, makes modeling easier, maintainable, and faster in development time.
