For my grease pencil challenge I chose to make the Earth explode layers by layers, which a different grease drawing on each layer.
So for starters, I represented the 5 layers of Earth: Crust, Upper Mantle, Mantle, Outer Core and Inner Core. Only the Inner Core doesn’t have any grease drawing.
On the Crust I tried to separate the continent from water, on the Upper Mantle it is random doodling, for the Mantle I tried some Z fractures, and finally on the Inner core concentric circles which turned out to be quite awesome 
Without further delay :
150 samples, 4H render time, 50% of 1080p.
The Crust is really thin, I tried to keep the real proportions, but seing it here just make me realise how thin it is 
The last layer has a rather slow explosion and some pieces stay near the core but I really like it and decided to keep it that way
