Gravitron 3000 - A Challenging 2D Puzzle Platformer

Gravitron 3000 is a puzzle platformer where you gain the ability to change the direction of gravity at any time. Inspired by the mind bending puzzles of Portal, and insane platforming of Super Meat Boy. It features original music created specifically for the game. 30 levels that grow increasingly complex, to the point that they seem impossible (all levels can be completed, you may just need to think outside the box).

Gravitron 3000 is the first game I have finished and released since starting the course. It will put your mind and hand eye coordination to the test.

Please give it a try and let me know what you think here.

and thats your first game? had a shot this morning, wow, thats pretty slick, well done!

Thanks, i’m glad you like it. I have been working on it in my spare time for almost 2 years now, so a lot of work has gone into it. I made a lot of mistakes but learned a huge amount also.

woah, 2 years, i must say good job  .
even though its only your “first game” but spending two years on it, you’ve spent a hell lot of time on it.
and the game it does look great.
keep up the good work.
i really believe if you made some moderate amount of PR and marketing for your game, it would probably sell a bunch of copies.

of course it wont make a fortune, but, you should give it a try. it might bring you a couple of bucks.
and i just finished playing it, i think it is bugging that, the character is small, i mean its a platformer the character should be cool and visible.

maybe you should consider contacting casual game portals and see what goes with you. (just a suggestion)(dont expect much though, since the game is just near the quality of something to be sold for a small price).
though with a bit more work, maybe a more recognizable character, making him bigger, add enemies, perhaps adding a final boss with AI in a well designed room where the boss perhaps have abilities just like yours.
fixing play bugs (sometimes when you hit a corner you get kinda in a weird spot, where you dont move, but you can jump again.).

sure it sounds like a lot more work, but, just my feed back. and the game is great. keep up the good work. !
the transition from the main menu to the first level is pretty darn neat, the visuals are neat but they could get more work. the orb and helping texts are well placed.
the sound track is fitting.
i like how you implemented a kind of story into the gameplay itself. rather than throwing it in a page and let the player read(which is something i did in my last two games sadly).

Wow, this game is really good! you could probably make some money out of it!
I really liked the gravity mechanic, nice idea!

Wow thanks, great feedback. I really appreciate that. Out of curiosity did you finish the browser demo or the downloaded full game? if it was the full game then great job!, you would be the first person I know of to complete it.
I agree with all your criticisms, the game is not without its problems. I have very similar ideas such as enemies (maybe using the crate to drop and destroy them), boss levels, having the cube character play a larger role in maybe leaving your gun and powering doors and such. But after 2 years on my first game I felt I had to cut the scope to something more manageable, and just get it out there. Right now i’m ready to work on something else, but I may come back to this at a later time and rebuild it from the ground up.
My art skills are average at best so getting an artist on board would be a must, for all the reasons you’ve mentioned, but again, for this project it has had to do. Although if there are any artists out there willing to create a more interesting character for the game I would be totally open to that.

Thanks again for the feedback and I’m glad you enjoyed the game.
