Not sure if it’s just me but when I loaded the grass photos as image as plane, the nodes in node manager were already set to make the background transparent. I know the lecture is in Blender 2.76 and may have changed for 2.79
That happened to me too! (And I thought I did it in my sleep or something)
I don’t think it is a big issue though as we can continue
