What’s up people, when I connect the alpha node of my image texture to the colour node input on the diffuse shader, I get the whole image going white as opposed to just the blade of grass as with Michaels example in the lecture, anybody know what could be causing this?
I ran into the same thing when I went through this part. Are you using version 2.78? The course is done in 2.76 so I’m guessing that they changed something between versions to make it go white now. The ending node setup will still get you the result you need though, so there’s nothing to be worried about.
I’m having a new problem whereby when I have this setup showin I don’t get the desired transparency that Michael gets in the lecture (For the image shown on the left). I have everything set up the way it should be.
Did you check off use alpha in the image texture properties? I did manage to recreate not getting the transparency, but then all I had to do was switch between display modes to get it to show up.
Yeah I managed to get that setting turned on
