I’m not completely clear on this. Is Ben using Gradient and Slope as interchangeable terms?. A quick google search didn’t helped much.

Apparently Gradients are vectors while Slope is a scalar…can you clarify?
We use slope and gradient interchangeably and it’s quite common to hear “the gradient of the line” and “the slope of the line” used to mean exactly the same thing in linear algebra.
Whilst the gradient and slope are technically different when you get into more advanced math, the distinction only really needs to be made when you start looking at things like multivariant calculus - but we probably won’t be covering those more advanced topics in this course.
So whenever you hear us say “slope” or “gradient” just assume we’re talking about the same thing.
