Good result, but the black lines make it difficult to be precise sometimes

I got the profile almost perfect to the reference image, but I deviated a little from the top curve cause the reference image is a bit asymmetrical.

However, I have a question. The black lines make it kind of difficult to make a precise line when you are adjusting the handles, is it possible to toggle them off or reduce their opacity or something?

Yes they can be turned off, though most have problems finding the button to turn them on!

However, your curve is not flat to the view and may well cause problems later. This is what it should look like. (Plane added to show up the curve better.) You also can use far fewer control points. Which are crowding your view somewhat.
