Getting error while creating a C++ project for the first time

Hi all,

When I try to create my first C++ project in Unreal it gives me the following error:

I found similar posts, tried to solve my issue using the solution provided but am still having the problem.

I suggest you uninstall IncrediBuild using the Visual Studio Installer

I didn’t say install, I said uninstall.

It wasn’t installed before, hence I tried installing just in case. But now it’s uninstalled and same error.

You’re just censoring your name here right? It’s not actually ###? Does it contain any non-English characters? That would most likely be your issue if it does.

They both just say

still implying it said what the error was previously? are you sure there isn’t any other logs? You could delete the entire Saved folder and it should result in fresh logs and no “still”.

Did it and it is still giving this “very informative” log :frowning:

I found a workaround! I removed the modules dependency in the .uproject file. It was like this:

Then, right-click the .uproject file and click on “Generate Visual Studio project files”. Then it will compile and generate the required files so you can work on your project using the IDE.

It isn’t the perfect solution tho, as I will have to do it manually every time I want to create a new project, but at least I get to use the engine.
