Getting error when trying to run Unreal Engine

I got the following message when I tried to run Unreal for the first time on windows:

A D3D11-compatible GPU (Feature Level 11.0, Shader Model 5.0) is required to run the engine.

Is there any inexpensive way to fix this problem, or is my computer simply not cut out for Unreal?

I’ve looked around the internet, and it seems like this error relatively easy to fix. I’m just wondering what the best way to fix this is regarding Unreal.

That would mean you would need to upgrade your GPU.

I believe UE 4.18 or lower would work but the Unreal C++ Course requires 4.20+. You could go through the archive course, however.

I’m rather unfamiliar with this sort of thing. Would an upgrade only be possible by buying a new physical GPU, or is their any kind of software that can solve this problem? Could you also clarify what you meant by “You could go through the archive course”?

Thanks for replying, and your help!

That can’t be resolved via software, no.

The archive course would be this one https://www.gamedev.tv/p/unreal-cpp-original

Alright, thanks for all your help!
