This time im using the GitHub Desktop app instead of SourceTree…
Anyone else try this out? I think I like it better.

Thank you! I was just now thinking that using the Git Gui wasn’t providing enough information for me like his SourceTree was giving him. I was just about to search Google for a different source control software package. I am happy I hit up the forums here before I have done it!
Just a note: If you are using the current version of all software available (VS 2017 version 15.3.4, Unreal Engine version 4.17.1, and GitHub Desktop 0.9.1), make sure the GitHub Desktop is not running when you make a new project in an established Git repository. Visual Studio will error out stating something along the lines that there are access issues, or that there is an install issue with Visual Studio. If you close the source control viewer application, this fixes all issues.
Edit: You can have your source control running while you are editing like Ben does. At least I have found that this causes no additional issues on my system.
