Game Design: Block Breaker meets "Space Invaders"

Hello folks,

I’ve just finished spriting for the block breaker challenge.
Mine will be an crossover space game between block breaker and space invaders, wehre you can fire as many “rockets” as you like but have to manbage more balls this way.

If one bomb falls to earth, then it’s “game over”.

In later levels there should be some moveable objects, e.g. like aliens closing in like as in space invaders.
This would force the player to shoot more balls and thus he / she has to handle more balls floating around.

What is my game theme?

Space / Apokalyptic

What’s the setting?

The earth is in danger if being obliterated by meteoroids, a spaceship is sent to prevent the comets from reaching earth

What should be the player experience?

Quick reaction, big explosions, special items, final scenes

What is the goal?

Destroying every block and don’t let the ball Fall on “earth”
