Furry head

I’ve finished the furry head section and made some models to show you)
I made the rat all by my own (before watching the course) and the cat after watching videos. Please, comment on my issues here, I really want to improve my skills))

Wow! I love these organic models and fur.

Hair is excellent, I have always problems with fur. It’s not my favourite part of Blender.
Maybe play a bit with local hair length.
The cat frontal pose has back legs to close to each other, I think (too stylish).
The lighting of the cat is maybe too bright. It’s like a sunny day and then an additional lamp shines on the cat. I think a shadow problem (increase angle of the sun lamp). You can use a black body on the sun lamp. To adjust the colour warmth of the sun.

While the rat looks life-like, the cage is very plain. It diminishes the rat as part of the scene. I know, all attention went to the rat. The cage was a quick addition, I think. But those details are also important. They tell a part of the story.

The rat is maybe too shiny. And the cat too orange. But that more creative and personal touch.

I think, try to study more on the light setup.

A great first post, show us more!

Maybe I can interest you in taking part in the weekly Blender Collab: Week 39 “Halloween”

have fun.

Thanks for your comments! I’ll improve all of that!
A wonderful idea of that week challenge, how can I take part? Just model anything I would like connected to the subject and reply to that post by adding my render?

Yes, every week there is a subject (chosen by the previous winner).
Create your vision of the subject, just post in that channel on time.

The goal is to get people out of their comfort zone by the diversity of subjects.
And to do many small projects. You can participate besides the normal course challenges, no strings attached. Just to enjoy and learn.
