Maybe just a single textures
folder and a assets
folder.
Because sometimes you have a texture, which can be used for multiple purposes.
I use this structure:
YYMM Project name (YYMM year, month)
- 05 Assets (all your .blend files)
- 10 Textures (image textures), incl. a shortcut to my main textures library
- 15 References (material for reference, photo’s schematics, drawings)
- 20 Render output (all rendered output; pictures, movies).
- 90 Documentation (a log file, project description, etc.)
I use the ‘XX’ number to sort maps on importance (most used on top), And with the incremental of 5, I can easily insert new folders at a given location.
The same goes for ‘YYXX’ , it orders your project structure. And you can see the progress you’ve made. Older project become less important, because, the models you’ve made are probably, not quit your latest Blender knowledge and standards.
If you have a project which you are upgrading with new knowledge, Just copy the folder, rename ‘YYXX’. And know always what your latest version is.
