In the node editor I have my render layers for the whole scene and for the Ground but in the panels on the node editor there are no graphic displays of those layers. I can’t figure out why.
Any suggestions?
You have created the scenes! But did you render the scenes also? Because that is something what you need to do (configure) also.
I rendered the animation of my scene. Is that what you mean? I even did it twice in two separate blender files of the same project. It still comes up with empty Render Layers.

Ran it again and this time it worked. Not sure what I changed or what was different. I did notice that I did not have the exclude turned on for layer 11 for the “Just Ground” layer. Layer 11 is where I have the airplanes. When I turned that on and rendered, the Render Layers had the appropriate images showing. Now this worked fine for individual frames but I am not sure how it will work when I put the movie together.
