I may have gotten ahead of myself and messed around with textures… but ultimately I have no idea how i got it to work and it gave me a headache so I got what I deserved

Fine use of the default cube!
No problem bar the headache 
in getting ahead of the course introduction to materials. But may save you more pain to learn more from doing more of the course!
