You can make surfaces, like your windows ‘emmisive’ act like a light. It will be covered at some point as you go through the course. If you are just starting, it would be best to move through the lectures first, imo.
That’s what I figured. I am continuing on and I look forward to coming back and improving what I’ve done once I know more!

There is an texture node called “Emmisive”, which radiates light.
Glass is difficult to master (reflection wise), introduces a lot of technical problems.
I think, if you create inner rooms (with lamps), glass can be avoided.
I would experiment, with the camera focus. to match the lens, focal point and camera location of your reference photo. There is an Add-on called "Blam". To extract this kind of information from your reference photo.
