Going for an asteroid field level design with background objects to provide a sense of depth. Even made two custom textures. One for the rocket body, and the other for a skybox.

This is a really cool idea. As you go, maybe you could even make it so that you only have a limited amount of boost and you need to land on a pad on certain asteroids to refuel.
This looks very cool. I get really motivated myself, when I see people using custom assets for these projects.
