I see two different sizes of faces! And to me it looks like I’m looking at the high poly version of it.
How are you reducing the poly count?
Fewer polys always have fewer options to fit shapes.
I am not too expert but if it rings a bell… to me those things between the fingers also look a lot like what you get in creases when remeshing to a finer mesh.
Never mind. I fixed it by increasing the poly count on the hp model and shrinkwrapped it with the lp one and it worked.
