Just finished section 1 of the How to Get a Job in the Game Industry and wanted to say what a great course, Rick is amazing as a career coach! Thank you so much for making it. This is exactly what I needed.
Just to talk a bit about specialization. It’s difficult. It’s really difficult for me. I literally love doing everything from drawing, to seeing things move with code, to making the GDD, etc.
But this course made me dig very deep and Rick was able to get my specialization out there! And once I did it was both a little sad and very happy. Sad that I had to come to the conclusion, I can’t do everything and there’s some things I like doing that I’m going to have to give up.
But also happy because I truly believe in my specialization and that it fits me. There’s so much to learn about level design, from lighting to prop placement, scale of the level, reward schedules, etc. I’m so very happy to have a direction, a path to go down!
