Nice board and pieces 
. I like the marble outside, a nice change from the wood. The wave effect on the pieces give it an interesting style.

A good set of models hiding under an over enthusiastic material for my personal taste! The nodes and the auto textures are fun to play with but is is easy to go too far and make viewer’s eyes go wobbly!

I agree. The marble texture of the board is nice, but it’s overpowering everything else. Needless to say, the size of the board’s surrounding edge is large, so that would probably overpower the center board and the chess pieces, even with a simple texture pattern.

You are right. I guess I was too excited with the textures and couldn’t stop 
I tried to calm it down a bit with a different board design. Lots of options to experiment with…

Yes, I like this much better. The marble texture of the border is still viewable, but it’s not as overpowering since it’s lower than the main part of the board, where the game is played.
